5 years ago, I have moved to Da Nang by myself. And then it was really hard for me to find a room to live. Because there are many different rules and problems specific to Vietnam.
In this post, I will share a couple important key notes about rent apartment in Da Nang, Vietnam.
1.Recommended Areas To Live In Da Nang #
There are multiple distinctive areas where popular to stay for foreigners. You can choose the place matches your needs the most.
Cho Con Area #
If you are looking for the convenient place to live, this area should be the best to you. There are a wide variety of restaurants with reasonable prices. Also, we have a mega supermarket (Go!) around here.
Not only that, there are lots of cozy cafes & stylish bars. So you must be very satisfied with the nightlife there.
Hoa Cuong Area #
If you are looking for a comfortable & quite place with affordable prices, this area would be the good one. You have a whole package to enjoy the local life in this area like local restaurants, beautiful park, cafes.
We also have Lotte Mart (hypermarket to sell a wide variety of things for life). You can buy everything you need for your daily life.
An Thuong Area #
If you are looking for a place to enjoy beautiful oceans and beach, this is the area you should live in. You can go swimming in the sea anytime you want, it’s just a few minutes to walk to the beach from the area.
After the covid pandemic gets stable, the beachside was redeveloped and now there are lots of entertainment there. Movie theater, street cafe, seaside bar, you would never be bothered by the night out.
Son Tra Area #
If you like to live with nature, this area would be suitable to your lifestyle. It’s really close to the foot of the Son Tra mountain, so you can enjoy running, cycling and driving.
The view from the mountain is magnificent. Also there are lots of wild monkeys in the mountain, so you can enjoy the wildlife of Da Nang.
2.How To Find An Apartment In Da Nang #
When it comes to finding an apartment in Da Nang, I think it’s the common to use these online services.
- DaNang Landlord
- House Rental DaNang
- Dot Property
- Join Facebook Group And Contact With House Owner
I have used all of the services and I feel their response is usually really quick. So you can contact with the person in charge after you find some candidate apartments.
After you can contact with the stuff, you can follow this process.
- Arrange the time to see the room in person
- Hearing about the neighborhood or surroundings
- Negotiate the day to start living
- Pay the deposit
Usually, the deposit is around 1 month. You can get back it when the contract is terminated and leave the apartment.
3.Must-Have Conditions For Renting An Apartment In Da Nang #
I don’t mention general requirement for renting an apartment like the size of room or facilities. What I want to emphasize here is that it’s necessary to consider the national situation of Vietnam.
In this 5 years, I have experienced many troubles related to Vietnam. So let me share some tips to select the apartment to live.
Find An Apartment With A Generator #
In Da Nang, there are lots of electricity cut with/without any plan. If you have got an electricity cut in the middle of the night in the hot summer, it must be a nightmare. Sometimes, the power is restored instantly, but it takes a half of a day if you are unlucky.
Therefore, it’s hyper important to ask whether the apartment has a generator or not. If it has, you can probably have a good sleep with fan or air conditioner under electricity cut.
4.Be Careful With Rental Agreements #
Before going to agree with the apartment contracts, you need to check the minimum contract period. In my case, the person in charge didn’t explain me about the minimum contract period (1 year). And if I terminate the contract before it terminates, you need to pay for the penalyt.
Because of that, I couldn’t change the place for one year. So it’s definitely better to check the minimum contract period before you sign it.
